Sculpt aSweet Snow-pixie  in Paper Clay
Class Outline, Syllabus and Supply list

Sculpting Level:
This class is designed for beginner to intermediate level students ages
15 and up and will be limited to 8 persons so that adequate instruction

Objective: Students
will learn to sculpt a vintage style Snowman on paper mache box. The
basics of working with paper clay will be explained. If time allows,

finished work on their own. Each student will also receive an
instructional booklet with photos that outlines the sculpting process.
This booklet will be the student's to keep for future reference.

Supplies: (The instructor will provide all sculpting tools brushes, armatures and finishes required for the class). Students should bring:

· a hairdryer or heat gun

· a package of Creative Paper Clay (at least 6 oz) (About Memories & More has this available for purchase)

· acrylic paints in the following colors: black,  red, pink and white. (About Memories & More has this available for purchase)

All Day Crops

have All Day Crops once a month...typically the last Saturday of the
month, well except this month because it's Halloween...and then November
because of Thanksgiving...but you get the general idea.  Anyway,
one of the perks to All Day Crops is the make-n-take.  It's always
something new...always a single page layout...always cute!  This is
the page they made this past weekend.  Love the paint on it.
It's still 'ol linear me, but I really like this one.  Hope you
enjoy it, too!

Maybe you can join us for our next All Day
Crop?  Saturday, November 21st, 8 am to 5 pm...and this one is just
$5 and is a potluck.  Nice way to try us out :)

(for the
record, All Day Crops are usually 8 am to 8 pm & are $28 &
include more food than you can possibly hope to consume in a
the make-n-take...but the holiday months are a little...odd)

Recently, I made these two cards for a customer.  She's normally
someone who would make them for herself, but the past 4 months have
been a bit of a trial.  In & out of the hospital...and now
finally on the mend.  They're for her doctor & her favorite
nurse.  I used October Afternoon papers because I'm a bit obsessed
with them.

Enjoy, Terri!

Kelly Rae Inspiration

(Kelly Rae is to the left...that's Liz with her eyes of my favorite photos from the trip to Oregon)

I have a bit of an obsession with Kelly Rae Roberts.
Truth be told, she's why I chose to go to Oregon.  Now don't get
me wrong, I had the most amazing time on my trip & had some life
changing experiences...but meeting Kelly Rae was so...amazing!  Not
only is she a gifted artist but she is a genuinely nice person.
She taught a class that just took my breath away...I painted these:

DSC_0150 DSC_0151

they adorable?  And I made them!  First time ever!
There are still some finishing touches to be done, but I love
them!  (The color is better in person...)  But the best part
was talking to Kelly Rae.  Can you imagine talking to someone you
admire...face to face?  She's so real...

So anyway, I got
this urge (thanks to Mindy's suggestion) to make a painting for the
bathroom at the store.  Here's what I came up with:

Another Mindy
(a new friend from my Oregon trip) is my inspiration for the birdie...I
love her style!  Mindy's painting is amazing...hope you check out
her link!

My next creation I'm gong to figure out how to
incorporate photos into it.  Man, I am lovin' this form of creative
expression.  From the paint on my the paint in my
hair...I start working on these & just

already been asked if I'll teach how to make these.  The short
answer is...maybe.  When I learn to make the techniques uniquely
mine, then yes, I'll think about it.  But I still have a lot to it might be a while.  But they'll still pop up from time
to time...because I'm lovin' it!

A letter to my dear friend Rachel...

Dear Rachel,

there!  How've you been?  Been thinking about you a lot
lately... Hope all is well in the tornados, I hope!
And hey, that new dog of yours is a doll!  Lucky little girl she

I see that you've opened up an etsy shop
I was surprised to see that it was full of all sorts of "old
stuff" know, the crap we've been purging out of our houses for,
like, forever.  (Trying to downsize). And I saw that you
had been hanging out at yard sales & thrift shops & I thought
"what the heck does she want that junk for?"  I hate those kind of
things.  But then I went to your shop & you had these amazing
"vintage" goodies...I was so excited, I bought this:

(which, I adore, by the way!)  Oh, and hey, what color is that wall?  Wanting that paint color badly...

Oh, and Madam Butterfly is hanging in the kitchen, next to my prized Kelly Rae Roberts prints.  (Did I tell you we sell those in the store now?  SO cute!)

And then you kept adding stuff...Baby Ben tempted!  And these cups...I may just need them..

Why, I don't know.  But now that you sell this stuff it looks way cooler!  Why is that??

And these?  OMG!  Do they happen to be big enough to be dog dishes?

apparently, the yard sales & thrift shops I had been to were not as
cool as yours.  So I thought to myself that it was time to check
out the shops here.  (Can't bring myself to go to yard sales yet...shudder).  Which was hard, because you know, I hate that sort of thing.  But the strangest thing happened...I found some seriously cool stuff in those shops!
I bought a 1965 Royal typewriter for $10 this summer.  It lives in
my living room.  Kendall & her friends "text" each other on
it.  Best $10 I've ever spent!  And today I found some
seriously cool frames & old games at one shop.  Oh, and I
bought another typewriter...this one for the's electric with a
12pt courier ball in it...for just $5...score!   And then I
found this...for $4.95.  I know, lucky, right?

I am in love.  And I want to thank you for opening up my eyes to
all that junk around me so I could find a few gems.  And they are
all worth it.  Although, my husband thinks I've lost my mind...and
Kendall was having a conversation with me today & then looked in the
back seat & her conversation was stalled..."you bought another typewriter?"  Um, yeah.  It's cool.

Miss you bunches!  Come visit...please!

PS I'm so inspired by my new pedestal bowl that I'm going to paint my craft room to match....shhhhh....don't tell Don....

Had the most amazing time in Oregon!  Thought I was going to
take very specific classes & instead I learned a whole lot about
myself (& took fabulous classes).  I made some new
friends...laughed a lot!  And I made some fantastic art.  I'll
share more with you over time, but right now, I'm just sorta mulling
the whole experience over in my mind.

Look closely at this sign. I think I'm the only one who
noticed...not sure what that says about me...but it just cracks me
up!  Any idea what I'm talking about?

Have a beautiful day!

It's a glittery day in the neighborhood...

Glass glitter....opaque glitter...diamond dust...oh my!  Check out the new glitter that arrived in the's yummy!

Halloween Goodies

love Halloween...I'm sure that's not really a secret to anyone who
knows when my girlfriends did a fall exchange with our favorite
treats, of course I had to make a jack-o-lantern.  I like to call
him "Edward".  Because he's a vampire pumpkin...and he has cherry
cordials for his treat (hard on the outside...all gooshy inside...bad

made these delightful buckets (paint cans covered in pretty paper)
& filled them with sugar cookie ghosts (just one per pail...and they
were YUMMY!)

Renae made these cute little bags (we have the die cut at the store for the bag shape) & filled them with mint Oreo's...yum!

Kim made these whoopie pies & decorated them with an oak leaf die we have at the store...

And Mindy made the most adorable backpacks out of paper & filled them with treats, too!

of these are fabulous ideas for treat holders for your family, friends,
teachers, neighbors...whoever you'd like to give a little somethin'

Fisher Point via Sandy's Canyon

we decided to take a little hike to Fisher Point.  Seems we never
actually make it to Fisher Point.  Our usual way takes a long
time...which I don't mind...but we always seem to run out of time.
This time we decided to go via Sandy's's a little
shorter.  It was so very pretty!  And if we had another hour
we would have have made it to Fisher Point.

This is my friend MacKenzie...she's the sweetest kid around!

My sweet husband...

The girls...

I love self portraits...

lately my other favorite kind of hold the camera over your
head (or under your arm...wherever) & just snap random photos.
Cracked MacKenzie up!
