Day 13 of the 30/30 Project

Here's what you need:

  • two 4 x 6 photos
  • one sheet 12x12 navy Cardstock with an Edge in a Dotted Swiss texture
  • two white photo mats:  one 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 and one 4 1/4 x 5 1/4
  • one 1 x 12 strip of white cardstock
  • one 1/4 x 12 strip of yellow cardstock
  • one 4 1/4 x 1 1/2 strip of red dotted with white
  • one 4 x 1 1/4 piece of white for the journaling
  • one piece of 3x3 red with white dots
  • one piece of 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 turquoise
  • one piece of 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 yellow
  • one piece of 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 white
  • one decorative brad

Here's what I did:

  • cut one photo down to 4 x 5
  • adhere photos to the mats
  • adhere the 1 x 12 white strip at the middle of the 2nd & 3rd scallop on the bottom.  Trim to match the scallops.
  • adhere the 1/4 x 12 yellow strip to the center of the white strip
  • cut out circles out of the cardstock squares to make the
distressed flower. I did them by hand...didn't trace, just cut.
You can do it!  If you're not sure, watch this video:

How to make a distressed circle flower from Kirsten Mead on Vimeo.

  • distress the edges of the flower with an edge distresser or your open scissors (watch the video if you haven't already)
  • add the brad to your flower & poke through the page (I used NO glue on the flower at all)
  • adhere your photos
  • do your journaling & adhere to the dotted red rectangle

Here's a closer view of the flower:

If you'd like to do this page exactly like mine, we have six (6) kits
available for today's project.  The kits are just $5 and include
everything you need to make the page, including the apple brad,
dotted swiss cardstock & layers for the flower.  Get yours
before they're gone!
