A Beautiful Family

Yesterday I had the honor of taking the Nelson Family photos.  Now bear in mind, I am not a professional.
I'm just a mom with a camera.  Jeannie is one of my favorite
people in the world...how could I decline?  But once again, it
reinforces that I want to take a hands on camera workshop here
I'm sure there are equally fabulous classes closer to home & less
expensive...if you know of them, please let me know.  There are
just some things I need help figuring out.

Here are a few of my favorites (I took 304 photos...it's an addiction, I think)

This is Alex.  He told me he loved me.  Melted my
heart.  And because he loves me, I got some excellent photos of
him.  What a crack up!

This is Emily.  She wasn't quite in the mood, but that's ok.  She's beautiful!

That's his football face...

What a cute family.

My favorite kind of photo...completely spontaneous!  I LOVE it!

  2. Those turned out great! I agree with Jeannie...they look pretty
professional to me too :) I'm sure there's still tons of stuff for you
to learn, but the pictures you're taking now are pretty incredible!

  4. Kirsten - I agree completely, your photos are beautiful, and though I
have already had one favor, would certainly like to be one of the next
in line for some family photos. Also would be interested in taking a
    photography class from YOU!

  5. A photography class is a great idea!! You have made no secret of how
you are trying to improve your technique and it would be great if we
could learn to apply it to our photos. Not all of us have the fancy
cameras, but just learning to change perspective, turn off the flash,
etc... is a great way to improve our photos! I see an addendum to our
    class schedule in the future...hmmmmmm.

  6. WooHoo! Another possible participant in a class at AM&M - maybe a
simple class titled "Photography with Kirsten"! How about it, maybe in
January after holidays and busy season is over?

  7. Your photos are terrific, you should be proud! I have taken a few
classes at CCC, and just looked at the Santa Fe website...OMG...amazing!
If you decide to go to a class let me know, I'd be interested in road
tripping! The portrait photography seminar in Feb. looks good...
