.  Just click on the link & check it out!  It's open to
teens ages 10-21.  Entries are due February could win a
cool line of scrapbooking supplies from Adorn It...check it out!

Let it snow!

Winter-y weather is PERFECT for scrapbooking!  Huddle up inside & stay warm, while you create this super fun page:

The base page is light blue with a white Bazzill scalloped page on
top.  The dot paper is from Bo-Bunny.  The photos are matted
in black cardstock.  "SNOW" is from the QuicKutz alphabet Abigail
& "DAYS" & "PLAY" are QuicKutz Spicy Chicken cut out of the same
blue that is the background.  There's a little 7 Gypsies date
sticker on the bottom of the lower photo.  The photo in the center
is popped up on pop dots, as are the blue words.  ENJOY!

Well, off to enjoy some brownies my daughter just made...yum!
And then off to a weight lifting class.  The irony, I know.
The creativity bug has definately bit me...I can't wait to get to work
tomorrow to work on some fun projects!  Invitations for a friend's

Confessions from the husband of a "scrapper"

This is Adam.  He s one of those husbands that supports his
wife's hobbies....when he & Jamie come to the store he trys to get
her to buy all sorts of stuff....she's the one telling him no.
It's pretty funny.  I really enjoy seeing them & appreciate
them immensely!  So while I was at Safeway this morning I asked
Adam if he'd write me a little note about why he supports his wife's
scrapbooking hobby.  What I got was an AMAZING response.
Check it out....

As a husband of a certifiably addicted scrapper, I would like to thank you. My wife’s addictions have given me the following;

1.  New power tools, well I “had to have them” for the desk insert.

2.  New Canon EOS 40D, “I have to have the best equipment to sponsor you hobby”.

Have to have at least three lenses

New bag

3.  Breathtaking beautiful photo albums.

Quality time with the boys, ergo the perfect excuse to encourage mom to
go out and scrap, while the boys hang out and eat pizza, ice-cream and
SODA! (aka, the cool parent)

5.  I have a happier wife. Lets face it, my wife is outnumbered (in the hormone arena) and any girl time, is fun time.

most important unintended endowment of my wife’s hobby is, the look
in my family’s eyes as mom (my wife) shows off her beautiful family,
that she spent a lot of time putting together, oh and scrapped the page
together as well.

Well said Adam!  Jamie, you're one lucky girl!

New Autumn Leaves Stamps & Paper

Love this!  We got in 2 each of the stamps so if you love 'em like we do you should come on down!

We R Memory Keepers Project Update

(click here to read the original post about this)
Finally, my photo project is getting closer & closer to
completion.  Pictured are 20 of my albums.  From 1994 to
present.  I have three more at the store so 23 in all.  Mind
you, this is just photos.  I haven't integrated my 10 scrapbooks
into them yet.  So the project grows....I'll probably have 40
albums when I'm done.  But that's ok.  They look
FANTASTIC.  They're easy to get things in & out of.  I
even found the missing 1/2 of 2005.  Whoo hoo!  Here are the
boxes I have left to go through:

Believe me.  This is NOTHING.  One whole box is negatives
& I'm out of sleeves.  Will have to buy another 100 at
Photographic Works.  One box is a few of our wedding
our typewritten vows, which, unfortunately, are covered in dried
mold.  Yuck, I know.  That's what happens when you put things
in unsealed baggies & you husband sprays the garage down with a hose
& doesn't know he's saturated a huge box of memoribila.  And
the overflowing box?  Well, that's school photos &
miscellaneous stuff...not many photos.  That rolled up batch of
photos?  My husband's high school football posters (with his HUGE
afro).  Anyone have any ideas of what I should do with them??
Post a comment & let me know.

These page protectors saved my butt...

And I LOVE my We R Memory linen albums...I started out with post
albums & switched to ring albums.  I like that I can change the
pages around....add & remove things easily.  And since I'm not
quite done, ease of use was a factor.

Thinking about starting a project like this?  I'm happy to talk
to you about you decide between post & ring based on your
needs...come & see for yourself why this is such a cool

Scrapbook Challenges

Once a month, beginning in February, we'll be having a Scrapbook
Challenges class.  This class requires a bit of prep work on your gather what we request & then join us for class to
complete a project.  The February Scrapbook Challenge class is
being held Monday, February 19th from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.  The
challenge?  A Week In My Life.
It's not as hard as you might think.  You'll need to take photos
of your daily routine.  When you get up, where you go, what you
eat, who you hang out with, things like that.  The concept is to
create some layouts that give insight into your life.  Not your kids.  Not your dogs. Not your friends.  YOUR life.  YOUR experiences.  So in 100 years your ancestors can look back at your book & laugh that you spent $3 on a gallon of gas and
on a latte.  And that your favorite slippers have panda heads on
them....or that you medicate yourself with food (like I did today after I
fell on my ass in the street)...or that you read a different book every
single night.  Doesn't this sound like fun?  I already
started taking my photos...although I'm having an atypical week my
walking buddy is out of town & I'm sleeping late...with glee I might
add) are a few of mine from today:

This is only a short period of time but it tells a story (to me,
anyway).  Take TONS of pictures....tons & tons...we'll only use
the best ones.  And don't forget to have photos of YOU.  I
don't care if you take them in a mirror (it's kinda fun, actually), have
the neighbor kids take your picture.  Whatever.  Just be in a
few.  This is all about YOU.  You should take notes of
anything that is super funny, serious, sad, whatever moves you....just
so you don't forget.  And don't worry about people looking at you
funny...they'll get over it & you'll have your photo.  I ran
into a guy at Safeway I knew today & snapped his photo in
there...check back to see it.  Pretty funny...I don't think he
thought I was serious when I asked to take his picture.  Anyway,
food for thought.

Don't forget to sign up for the'll be glad you did this.  Promise!

Lots to tell you about....

Ok, so I have LOTS to tell you about today....keep checking back...I'll add posts as time permits.

First off....

The Bucket List

My husband & I went to see "The Bucket List"
today..gotta say, I was totally moved by much so that I cried
off & on all day long...not that I didn't know what was going to
happen...I did...mostly because there's a part in the movie with Morgan
Freeman tells Jack Nicholson about an ancient Egyptian belief that you
have to answer two questions to get into heaven...1) did you find joy in
your life & 2) did you bring joy to others....for some reason I've
obsessed over it all day.  I don't know that I want to do a bucket
list...frankly, I am limited by money, the guys in the movie are
obviously not.  But what a GREAT idea for a scrapbook page...or
even a whole book.  My friend Audra is making a book (looks like my
"little things that bring me joy" book but it's 52 pages instead of 12)
that has a picture of one thing each week that she is grateful
for.  I'm not sure if I'll do a book, or just make random
lists.  But even a random list can be included in your
scrapbook...remember, scrapbooking is a record of your

This isn't a bucket list but a list of what I'm grateful for & find joy in now:

My little nephew Ray.  He is so very happy & makes me
happy.  He's just under 3 years old & is a crack up.
Truly glad to be his aunt.

My neice Becky.  She's in her 20's with 3 young boys & is an
amazing mother...& an amazing woman.  Truly glad to be her
aunt.  She'll be surprised to be on my list because I haven't seen
her in a bit...but she's been on my mind a lot lately.

My dog Maggie.  She's a freak....has no scared of
her own shadow...but "saving" her has been good for my heart.

My customers.  Truly.  I LOVE what I do.  I LOVE to
help you find the perfect paper for your photos or design your wedding
invitations.  And I am moved to tears along with you when I help
you pick out things to use when you lose a loved one.

My husband.  He's the most supportive husband a girl could
have.  And being super cute sure doesn't hurt!  18 years
together & I love him like it's brand new.

My daughter.  She's alternately awesome & infuriating.  It's hard to be a teen, that's for sure.

My family.  ALWAYS there when you need them...and even when you don't.  Can't imagine a life without them.

My friend Lyn.  I am so grateful she's out of the hospital.

The gist of the movie is that the most important things in life are
the relationships with your family & friends.  I couldn't agree
more.  Adds to meaning to your scrapbooks, now doesn't it?

I am a happy, happy girl....I LOVE these new cards &
magnets....& they're not just for mailing...I have them all over my
office walls...have for years....did I mention I LOVE them?

Why I Scrapbook

Super talented Laurie was in the store I quizzed her
about why she likes to scrapbook (she LOVES to scrapbook,
actually).  Laurie says, "it's my creative outlet.  I'm not
using my art education degree so I scrapbook.  It makes me
happy!  So happy in fact that when I get home from Midnight Madness
I wake my husband up to show him my pages!"  I'm not sure how
Laurie finds the time...she has 2 small sons, a great husband & runs
a daycare out of her home....she did mention she stays up way too late
but it's worth it!

Something to ponder...

We'll be closed on Monday but you won't be far from my mind...been
thinking a lot about projects, displays, and you, my dear friends &
customers, are always on my mind....Mondays are now for recharging,
regrouping, designing...hoping to start a project using canvas
tomorrow....we'll see how the day unfolds....I'll be visiting a friend
in the out that dreaded guest room....lots to do
but my friend is the priority.  Thanks for understanding the need
for a day off!  We'll see you on Tuesday!

Happy Birthday to Andi

Happy Birthday, Mom!  We love you!

My mom's Bob & I planned a party for my mom this year.  We
so dropped the ball for her birthday last year & it was an important
one!  We invited her friends & neighbors & had everyone
bring a dish to go with spaghetti...I even made bruchetta, cream cheese
& mushroom stuffed croissants, caprese, & of course, chocolate
cupcakes (yes, me, the non cook).  I had everyone fill out 4x6
cards that said something nice to my mom & I took bunches of photos
to put in an album for her.  A family friend took this photo of my
brother & I with our mom...I love it!  i can't wait to have
the  photos printed tomorrow & slide them into those We R
Memory Keeper 12x12 photo sleeves!  A fast & easy project...but
oh so meaningful!  I read the cards just before bed tonight & I
love what they say!  I know she will, too!  My daughter asked
me why we needed to do this for grandma.  I told her it was always
good to know that you are important to someone & that they
appreciate you.  She said that grandma knows.  And my
response?  You know, sometimes it's good to hear it again....see it
in writing....know you make a difference....know that you're

So here's my challenge to you today....send someone a card & tell
them you appreciate them....make their day!  Because even if they
know it, it's ALWAYS good to hear it again!

Take this....

add a few embellishment leftovers & cute paper & you get this...

Enjoy your weekend!  Here's how I started mine:

This is actually the end of our walk....when we left it was
dark....but Audra, bless her little heart, let us leave at 6 instead of
5...wooohooo!  My husband took this's a tip...if you
squat down & take a photo up at an angle, it makes your subjects
look huge in the bottom part of the photo...that's the problem,
right?  Couldn't be all those holiday goodies I ate?  Right???

Sherry's at it again...

Sherry certainly has a talent for making lots of pages quickly!
Here are some of her'll see them hanging around the store
for a bit, too....Enjoy!

Simple but oh so cute!

Everyone needs a photo like this on the internet....

What a lovely lady!
