So much is happening around here....

(Did you know my husband & I met in jail?  It's true, I swear!)

We've been really busy at the store entering in all sorts of new
products.  Come in and check out the new Basic Grey papers &
rub on's, paper & chipboard from Scenic Route, buttons galore from
Autumn Leaves, two new lines of paper & chipboard from Cosmo
Cricket, themed stickers & paper from Karen Foster, paper, stickers
& albums from Bo-Bunny, and new Heidi Swapp, too.

Our class schedule is done for March.  Yee Haw!  Silly
me.  I forgot to put a basic scrapbooking class on there.  But
you all know you can call and make a private appointment for that,
right?  We're having an All Day Crop on March 17th.  They're a
lot of fun!  It's 12 hours of scrapbooking, with lunch, munchies
and a fantastic make-n-take.  We also make personal water bottles
for everyone.  There's lots of energy going on....really, it's too
much fun!

I made this fun album for our "Me & You" 6x6 mini book
class.  This class is so cool! It's a 6x6 Making Memories scrapbook
and we'll be making all 20 pages in the album during class.  We're
using all kinds of really cool products and you'll have lots leftover
for another project.  And you get to pick pink or blue (I used
blue)....114_2571 Isn't it fun?!!! 114_2573_1

I received my 2007 Small Business Sucess Award tonight from the Small
Business Development Center.  It was AMAZING!  I'm not sure
what I expected, but this wasn't it.  There were 14 businesses
through the state that won the award.  The ceremony was at the
Heard Museum.  I had to speak...that was scary!  The food was
delicious...there was a native american flutist playing throughout the
mixer portion....we had professional photos taken...I met the vice
president of the Coconino Coummunity College (Kitty) who was really,
really nice...Rick came (yeah! and he brought fresh bagels!)....I got to
know my new business counselor...Annette--she's super cool...ooohhh,
and the bronze sculptures on the grounds were beautiful.  It was
such an honor to be chosen!

Here are a couple of pictures....I'll have the statue at the store
for you all to see.  I even got a certificate from the  US
Congress.  How amazing is that?

My dear husband Don & I.  I was dressed by my friend Audra
(I felt like I was at the Oscars)...if it's not yoga clothes, I don't
really know how to pick clothes out.  You can't see them, but she
had me wear these 2 inch 11:00 pm boy were my feet sore!114_2534 114_2533_1

Afterwards, we went to this very mod resturaunt called "FEZ".  I
had a really yummy pomegranatini.  The light fixtures were a
little weird.  I'll leave them to your imagination.

What we're up to

The bridal fair is done.  And I must say it was very
exciting!  I got to meet lots of new people who had never heard of
my store.  I hope to see them again!  Thanks to all of our
regulars who stopped by to say hi and a special thanks to Diana Anderson
with Arbonne who directed lots of people to our booth with her
enthusiasm for the projects we had displayed.  Everyone was excited
about the paper roses (look for a class in March) and they loved the
Envelopments invitation ideas and our die cut boxes.  Did you know
we have over 50 die cuts of boxes, bags, file folders, flowers &
more?  And we have a 4 inch alphabet upper case & lower case
that I just adore!  It's great for monograms...and lots, lots
more!  We have our display set up at the store so if you need a
party idea, wedding idea or just something to start your imagination,
stop on by & check it out!

Tomorrow is my tax day.  I actually can't wait.  I love
getting ready for taxes.  Sick, I know.  But I get butterflies
in my when you drive over big dips in the road.
They're gone after taxes...but it's kinda fun!

On Wednesday, I'm getting a 2007 Small Business Success Award from
the Small Business Development Center.  I'm pretty excited for
that, too!  I had the most amazing business counselor, Rick
Leibowitz, who encouraged me and taught me to believe in myself.
Rick has since moved to New Jersey to open a bagel store but will be
coming to see me get my award...and bring me bagels!  The ceremony
is at the Heard Museum in Phoenix...I've never been there before.
We have to get dressed up...well, business clothes...which meant a
shopping trip for Audra & I because all I wear are yoga
clothes.  Thank you Rick!

Bridal Fair

Audra & I just set up the booth at the Bridal Fair.  I am
sooo happy!  I have some super talented gals working for me!
And Audra, she's just FANTASTIC!  Thank you!

Here's a picture of what we've done.114_2484
We used pictures from my brother & his wife's wedding.
Aren't they just a beautiful couple?  Love them both a bunch!

Hope you get some fun ideas from our ideas for the  Bridal
Fair...let us know if you want to recreate anything & we'll help you

My mom made these beautiful paper roses....we'll have a class on them....they're amazing!114_2485

The blue back drop was not my idea....came with the booth.  114_24851

What a creative day!

I was really motivated to be creative today.  We're supposed to
be getting ready for the Northern Arizona Bridal Fair on Saturday (2/17)
so I made a page for the All Day Crop instead.  And I love
it!  114_2481
I used a picture of Rachel & I from Disneyland.  (I'm
incognito.)  Rachel sent me a bunch of pictures that we took at CHA
and and Elsie Flannigan page is the inspiration for this totally fun to
make page.  The paper is actually Basic Grey tags, cut down to fit
wherever.  There are some Making Memories buttons & a
clip...and the butterfly....well, let's just say THANK YOU QUICKUTZ
SILHOUETTE!  It's way cool!  We just broke one out of the box
to try.  LOVE IT!  Anyway, the border on the page is just
black pen that mimicks some lines on one of the tags.  Oooohh...the
live a happy life is a quote from the t-shirt I"m wearing in the
picture.  You can see part of the fat little buddah sticking his
head out.  The All Day Croppers are gonna love this make-n-take!

Is is February already?

I love Valentine's Day.  That & Halloween are my FAVORITE
holidays.  I seem to order lots of products for both of these very
fun holidays...lots & lots of products!  Right now, we have the
most adorable Valentine's paper.  I've used it on several projects
and have had to order it 3 times...honestly, we don't ever re-order to order it 3's darn cute!  And then we
have these chipboard shapes from Making Memories.  They are dirt
cheap...just $1.00...and make the cutest little Valentines!  This
Wednesday, our sale is 20% off all Valentine's Day stuff.
Stop by for some great deals & Valentine's Day inspiration!

I've had several inquires about Envelopments invitations today.
Enough of them that I'll post a link to their website.  We are
authorized retailers for them but you can check out their projects on
their website.  Very cool stuff!  We're participating in the
Northern Arizona Wedding Expo on February 17th and thought we'd
incorporate their invitations into our booth.  I just love the
possibilities!  If you get a chance, stop by & check out our
booth...we have discount coupons at the store.

Again, I have to say, the trade show was a blast!  I was lucky
to be able to go with  2 of my best friends.  We had soooo
much fun!  By the way, I did ride the Tower of Terror.  I
didn't want to.  I did it for my friend.  The things I do for
my friends.  Jeez!  I was totally terrified, but I didn't cry
this time.  Rachel did though.  And she apologized profusely
for putting me through it.  My husband thinks we're a couple of
babies....he loves that ride!  I don't feel the need to ever do it

So, they have the coolest thing at Disneyland.  They have these
staff photographers that are all over the place.  When they take
your picture they hand you a photo pass.  On day 2 at the park, we
decided we'd let the photographers take our picture every time we saw
them.  Then when you're done, you can either buy some of the
pictures or you can have them put on a disk.  So we have 30
professional pictures on a CD....for $100.  That's a steal!
If you buy just 1 photo it's $13 bucks...not a deal...but to have the
CD?  That's awesome!  All I can say is I wish we would have
figured that out on day 1...obviously it's not worth it to buy it for 1
or 2 pictures...but for 30?  You betcha!
